Bio: Tom Jarosik has over 37 years of experience in the housing industry. He is a member of the Institute of Residential Marketing. He is also a past president of the Volusia Home Builders Association. He is not only a past Chairperson of the Volusia Sales and Marketing Council but also the Florida Sales and Marketing Council. He was recognized as the John P. Hall recipient in 2007 and has judges all over Florida and the Southeast.

Name: Robert Kennedy
Title: VP of Sales and Marketing Broker

Location: Lawrenceville, La.
Bio: Robert Kennedy has been a home builder’s judge in markets such as New Jersey, Miami, Jacksonville, Knoxville, Tenn.; Raleigh, N.C.; and Tulsa, Okla., for the past four years. He holds the following designations from the University of Housing Professionals: CSP, CMP, and MIRM. He has been an active member of the home building industry for 26 years and has been a board member of the Greater Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council for three years.

Name: John Settle

Bio: John Settle has been an active member in the home building industry since 1979. He has held the title of broker/sales manager, new home sales consultant, preferred builders director, and director of sales throughout Florida for more than 20 years. He has judged for SMC in the past and we are honored to have him with us again.

Name: Annette Benton

Company: Central Florida New Home Finder
Location: Orlando, Fla.
Bio: Annette Benton has judged the Tampa Bay Parade of Homes and Awards of Excellence, Brevard Parade of Homes, Charlotte/Desoto Parade of Homes, Jacksonville Laurel Awards and Parade of Homes, and Marion County Parade of Homes. She was voted SMC Member of the Year for HBA Metro Orlando in 2004 and 2005. She is the vice chairperson and sits on the Steering Committee for HAB Metro Orlando.

Name: Leigh Staley Tarullo

Bio: Leigh Staley Tarullo began her career in general real estate in 1978. Leigh has sold over 1,000 homes and has managed the sales and marketing efforts for three national production builders. As a past SMC chairperson for the HAB Metro Orlando she has received numerous MAME awards for sales and marketing and is a certified CSP instructor.

Name: Carroll Jaskulski

Location: Mt. Dora, Fla.
Bio: Carroll Jaskulski has developed sales and marketing campaigns for 31 residential projects with sales in excess of 5,000 units. He has been the featured speaker, panelist and instructor for local and regional home builders associations, including the National Association of Home Builders. He has a keen understanding of the relationships between market dynamics, product characteristics and buyer demographics.

Bio: Cindy Runkel has 25+ years of sales and marketing experience in residential development and home building. She has researched, planned implemented and managed comprehensive marketing programs comprising everything from community development to special events. She also holds the coveted MIRM designation, is a recipient of the MAME Award from the HBA of Metro Denver and currently serves as the chairperson for the Flagler HAB SMC.

Bio: Richard Nicholson has been an active member of the home building industry for 20 years. He is designated by the home builders association as a Life-Time Spike. He has judged many local and state SMC awards and Parade of Homes programs throughout the state of Florida. He has owned and operated Richard Nicholson Publishing and Marketing for 20 years and raises sponsorships for the home builders associations and non-profits.

Interior Design Judges

Name: Susan Varga
Title: Architecture Studio Business Manager
Company: Canin Associates
Bio: Susan Varga earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Florida State University. After obtaining her professional interior design license, she started and successfully operated her own commercial interior design firm for over a decade. She has contributed her unique skills to the building industry for over 20 years. She has devoted tireless hours remolding organizations like the Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity and the Molly Ray School. She also served as the Design Council chairperson for the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando.

Name: Lynn Lamar
Title: Interior Designer
Company: Model Home Interiors
Location: Marietta, Ga.
Bio: Lynn Lamar has been an interior designer for more than 15 years. She has been an allied member of ASID since 1995 and has won numerous awards for interior merchandising of model homes. At Model Home Interiors she is has established a new career of marketing and design to obtain new clients and utilize her extensive knowledge of design.

Name: Tami Swingler
Title: Vice President and Co-Owner
Company: Five Star Interiors
Location: Austin, Texas
Bio: Tami Swingler has helped the home building industry create distinctive model homes and sales offices that meet the needs of an ever-changing marketplace for more than 14 years. She has been a member of NAHB for 11 years and is working on her MIRM designation. She has judged for Parade of Homes and award shows in over seven cities including Atlanta; Raleigh-Durham, NC; Charleston, SC; Orlando; Jacksonville; Denver; and Phoenix.

Name: Rick Thomas
Title: President
Company: Intermark Design Group
Bio: Rick’s entire career has been in the home building industry focusing on model home merchandising and designs for the last 15 years. He has taught at local Universities as well as public speaking events. He holds his Doctorate in Business Administration from Nova Southeaster University. As the president and founder of the Intermark Design Group he is responsible for the model merchandising and sales centers throughout the US and Canada.

Name: Jerrod Klein
Title: VP of Sales and Marketing
Company: M/I Homes
Bio: With over 19 years of industry experience Jerrod has worked in the areas of sales, marketing, product development, and model merchandising. As a past president of the Indianapolis SMC he has served on the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis board for more than 11 years. He has also earned his CSP and CMP designations and is currently the Chairman of the VAMA committee for the Builders Association (BAGI).

Architectural Design Judges

Name: Tony Weremeichik
Title: Principle, Architectural Design Studio

Bio: Tony Weremeichik has more than 18 years of architectural design experience in master planned communities and resorts worldwide. Tony serves on the board of directors of the American Institute of Building Design; Florida Society. He is also a past chairperson of the Design Council of the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando. He is a member of the Institute of Classical Architectural and Classical America and the Congress of New Urbanism.

Name: Jackie Suarez

Bio: Jackie Suarez has a degree from the Florida School of the Arts in Advertising Design. She has been the owner of Architectural Artworks & Graphics, Inc since 1992. She is a member of the Marion County Builders Association where she has been recognized as the Associate of the Year and served as the associate vice president.

Name: Dale Roberts

Bio: Dale Roberts began his career more than 24 years ago in the Central Florida advertising community. He is a longtime member of the Volusia Home Builders Association and has held numerous committee chairmanships over the past six years. He has been voted Associate of the Year at local, state and national levels. He has also served on the board of directors at local, state and national levels.

Name: Carter Gordon
Title: President
Company: Sunshine Homes
Bio: Carter worked as a consulting engineer and project manager in Canada for 16 years and had an additional 10 years in construction management in Bolivia and Sudan before coming to Florida in 1986. Cater has been designing, building and remolding ever since. He is a state certified general contractor and is the contractor of record for Sunshine Homes. He has his Civil Engineering Degree from University of New Brunswick as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

Bio: Wayne has been practicing architecture for 30 years and has focused his expertise both nationally and internationally. He has worked in areas of single and multifamily residential projects, mid and high-rise condominiums, mixed-use and commercial projects, and custom homes. His creative leadership and management abilities have led to many successful projects and resulted in numerous awards.
